Josephine Brouwer is the primary instructor at Wedgewood Farms. She teaches basic riding skills and classical dressage to the beginner to advanced rider. Many of her students come to her with different problems and different goals in mind. She has helped many people overcome obsticals with their horse and has allowed them to acheive success.

Josephine Brouwer is currently a Canadian Sport Horse Inspector but holds many other titles to her name. For instance, she is an accomplished dressage rider, judge and riding instructor.

Throughout her riding career, Josephine has won numerous dressage awards including the Advanced Dressage Zone Award and the C.A.D.O.R.A Silver Advanced Certificate. She also competed in the Pan American Games Trials and placed second on her ex-racehorse Bo Vern.

Not only has she competed in dressage, she has also competed in the open jumper and ladies hunter circuit.

Josephine is a retired “S” Level C.E.F dressage and show hack judge; however, she continues to guest judge and is welcomed as a clinician in many events, so the word “retired” is used loosely.

Furthermore, Josephine passes on her experience and knowing eye through teaching. She is a highly respected dressage instructor and has a reputation of helping three-day-event riders improve their dressage scores and earn winning titles.

Likewise, she has helped several students achieve their Level 1, 2, and 3 coaching certificates.

Though she has gained much of her knowledge through years of experience, Josephine has trained with some of the world’s best known riders and instructors including Inez Propfe-Credo, Charles de Knuffy, Colonel Podhajsky, Baron von Blixen-Finecke, Colonel Graffi, Georg Theodorescu, and Dietrich von Hopfgarten, to name a few.

All of her students are lucky to learn from Josephine who has the knowledge and experience to truly make a difference.
